CHRONOLOGY of EVENTS
3/2011- Bishop to preside over Confirmation, at St. Vincent Pallotti church
2/2011- Core team & Bishop select ST.JOSEPH THE WORKER as merged parish name
10/8/10-Bishop announces change to his decision; St Vincent will be parish seat. Parish will retain all
records as the juridic corporate seat. Letter to Convener (see below) & Star Herald announcement article
published (see MEDIA COVERAGE page).
2009- Congregation for Clergy eventually decides that decision rests with bishop. Parish appeals to
Apostolic Signatura & begins civil legal actions
12/15/08- Parish submits appeal to Vatican: The parish council submitted 5 binders (3000 pages) of
documents in our appeal to the Vatican, which they allowed.
8/27/08 - Bishop announces priest conveners and changes in diocese. Diocese accessibility study of two
parishes supports decision that St.Vincent will remain open as a worship site (but not as the parish center as

6/29/08- the parishioners of St, Vincent Pallotti, in a sign of unity, planted hundreds of crosses on the church
lawn and attended a prayer service immediately following Sunday's 10:45 am mass. The event was attended
by hundreds and was covered by 6 ABC Action News as well as Fox 29 News and the local papers.
4/3/08- Diocese announces changes to planning committee recommendation. St Vincent to merge and close.
